So, l have liked this design for three years, and it has meaning for me...so dont worry, im not getting it on a whim. Im getting it done On the 29th of September. My question is, since l wanna watch....what should l expect? Are the needles HUGE? Do they scare most people? Some one please, tell me what to look for/expect! Plus, the artist has comes highly recommended. So its not like im getting it in some guys basement :)

depends where your getting it at the pain wont be so bad, the needs are small but there is more then one needle, l think l heard black does not hurt as much as the color but not really sure, l have 2 and im getting 2 more in the next month, so do not panic your self out- best of luck

congrats! getting tattoos is so exciting! first off, dont be nervous!
depending on where u r getting it they will shave & disinfect area.
they will then put a transfer of the tattoo on you
they will do outline first, this needle is a bit thicker since it needs to be a bigger line, u really cant see the needle, its in the tattoo machine.
i will not lie, tattoos hurt, depending on how big yours will be or where its going on ur body will vary the pain, but since its ur first it might hurt regardless.
after the outline they will color it in or finish the rest as im not sure of what yours entails.
then ur done!
i can best desribe the pain as a burning sensation, kind of like a sunburn.. the needles r not big at all, just make sure they r clean!
good luck & happy 1st tattoo!

The needles are very small and move so quickly, it is hard to even see them. Also, depending on the artist and what he/she is doing, they will use different numbers of needles. Really fine work is sometimes done with as little as one needle whereas shading is done with a row of needles and I've even heard of double rows of needles, although I've never seen them used. The anticipation and excitement tend to get people more than the ''scary'' needles.

actually it is a very cool process to watch. first of all, u can not even see the needles bc they move so fast. l like watchin the tattoo artist tattoo me, it looks really cool how he just draws on u, and there will be so much ink all over the place, and u just wonder how the heck can he actually see the drawing and not miss the lines :D

Hee hee, the needles do not even really look like needles. They are all grouped together on the needle bar so they almost look more like a metal paintbrush than a needle.
If you image search ''tattoo machine'' you will find your answer, though. It will give you an idea what you will see. Tattoo machines do not look like any other kind of equipment you will ever see, really, so most people are not scared of them. ^_-

It is nothing like getting an injection at the docs, do not worry! If you are concerned why not go and ask to have a quick look at what they use and it will put your mind at rest, it is not a big needle, and no, it did not scare me.
